MILEY CYRUS HAS become known for taking another artist’s song and transforming it into something entirely different with her signature delivery. Now, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick have taken a page out of Cyrus’ book and done the same with their rendition of her latest single, “Flowers.” With backing vocals from a figurine of a screaming goat, the couple’s cover got the Cyrus seal of approval.
“We’re not with the goats, but we thought we’d try a goat song, anyway,” Bacon said at the start of the cover.

“Love this,” Cyrus wrote in response to the video the pair shared on social media earlier this week. Bacon responded: “Clearly, so do we. Thanks for this tune.”
Cyrus has been breaking streaming records left and right since the release of “Flowers,” the first single from her forthcoming album Endless Summer Vacation. Out March 10, the record will serve as a “reflection of the strength she’s found in focusing on both her physical and mental well-being.”
The biggest hit of the past decade of her career, “Flowers” couldn’t have been a better start to Cyrus’ first full-length release since 2020’s rock-driven Plastic Hearts. “I think that I’m really embracing — and everyone else is embracing, too — that the music is a priority right now,” the singer told Rolling Stone in 2020. “I guess I’m just in love with the fact that, for once, it feels like it’s really focused on the music, and I think I felt that I almost took some blame for the distraction sometimes.”
We were good, we were gold
Kinda dream that can’t be sold
We were right ’til we weren’t
Built a home and watched it burn
Miley Cyrus has moved on from heartbreak — and she’s sharing her healing in a new song.
The singer, who’s had hits in various genres including country, rock and pop, dropped her latest song “Flowers” on Friday, a single off her upcoming 13-track album “Endless Summer Vacation.”
In the song, Cyrus sings about finding self-love after heartbreak. Sampling the 2012 Bruno Mars hit “When I Was Your Man,” Cyrus seems to answer Mars’ famous lyrics “I should have bought you flowers / And held your hand / Should have gave you all my hours / When I had the chance / Take you to every party ’cause all you wanted to do was dance” in a chorus of her own.
“I can buy myself flowers,” she sings. “Write my name in the sand / Talk to myself for hours / Say things you don’t understand / I can take myself dancing / And I can hold my own hand / Yeah, I can love me better than you can.”
Cyrus released the song on her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth’s 33rd birthday, something her fans speculate was no accident.
Miley Cyrus arrives at the Tom Ford AW20 Show at Milk Studios on February 7, 2020 in Hollywood, California.
In 2019, Cyrus and Hemsworth called it quits less than a year into their marriage, 10 years after meeting on a movie set. The former couple met in 2009 while filming an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ “The Last Song” and announced their engagement in 2012. Cyrus began wearing her engagement ring again in early 2016, and the couple married in December 2018 in Tennessee.
In an interview with Rolling Stone in 2020, Cyrus shared that despite how she was portrayed, she was not happy and was going down a dark path in 2018.
” ‘She’s got a man. She’s living in a house playing wife,’ ” Cyrus said, adding she was also experimenting with drugs and alcohol. “Dude, I was way more off my path at that time than any of the times before where my sanity was being questioned.”
Better late than never right? I finally had gotten around to finally capping and sorting the segments of Miley from her new years eve party with Dolly Parton. Below you will find stills, posters, photoshoot and screen captures including performances and the hilarious skits.

Attention Smilers: Miley Cyrus is back with new music!
The pop superstar announced her upcoming eighth studio album Endless Summer Vacation on Thursday, unveiling its release date and stunning cover artwork alongside an ethereal trailer that teases its thematic universe.
Set to drop on March 10, Endless Summer Vacation — a “love letter to L.A.,” according to a press release — will see Cyrus confidently exploring her journey toward building both physical and emotional strength.
Its album cover finds the 30-year-old “Midnight Sky” performer hanging from a trapeze bar while flexing her toned muscles and donning a black bodysuit, stiletto heels and dark sunglasses.
For the music set to appear on the project, Cyrus recorded alongside producers Kid Harpoon and Greg Kurstin as well as Mike WiLL Made-It and Tyler Johnson, both of whom worked on her hit 2013 album, Bangerz. Last week, she announced the new record’s lead single, “Flowers,” will be released on Jan. 13 and teased several lyrics, including “I can buy myself flowers.”
In the teaser trailer for Endless Summer Vacation, clips of Cyrus in various Los Angeles locations — poolside, hanging from a helicopter on the trapeze bar, etc. — while speaking in a VoiceOver.
“We met each other on the neon dingy, past the manta rays and palm trees. Glowing creatures beamed down from great heights, electric eels and red venom. In the sky, we could see the riders on horseback, on comets coming toward us, kicking up with laughter,” she says in the clip, shared via social media.
“My friend Big Twitchie rode the boat into the light, surfed the north break. We danced until there was nothing left — just me and Twitchie, ’cause that’s all we knew,” continues the VoiceOver.
Cyrus’ previous albums include 2007’s Meet Miley Cyrus, 2008’s Breakout, 2010’s Can’t Be Tamed, 2013’s Bangerz, 2015’s Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, 2017’s Younger Now and 2020’s Plastic Hearts.
She’s also released two EPs, 2009’s Time of Our Lives and 2019’s She Is Coming, and crafted a live album, Attention: Miley Live, in April 2022.
“My 20s were so much fun. If you don’t believe me, I think you can Google it,” Cyrus tells Hoda Kotb in an exclusive clip from NBC’s upcoming special, A Toast to 2022!
Miley Cyrus is using her past — and advice from Dolly Parton’s husband — to inform her approach to 2023.
The 30-year-old “Midnight Sky” superstar will appear on NBC’s upcoming A Toast to 2022! special, and PEOPLE has the exclusive premiere of a clip from her interview with Hoda Kotb, in which Cyrus muses on her 20s and reveals her New Year’s resolution.
“I guess my resolution would really be — my instinct is very loud, but I’m not a great listener sometimes,” she tells the Today host in the clip. “Dolly was telling me, her husband [Carl Thomas Dean] says, ‘You’re not hard of hearing. You’re hard of listening.’ And I guess that would kind of be my resolution, to not just listen to myself, but listen to others.”
Kotb, 58, then asked Cyrus how she feels different now that she’s entered her 30s.
“I always say that my truth, and the opposite of what that is is also true. Somehow I’m completely different, and then somehow I’m exactly the same,” she continues before cracking a joke about her highly-publicized years as a 20-something, which featured her nude “Wrecking Ball” music video and infamous 2013 MTV VMAs performance alongside Robin Thicke. “Now, in my 30s — I mean, my 20s were so much fun. If you don’t believe me, I think you can google it…”
More of Cyrus’ interview with Kotb will be featured on Friday’s episode of Today before A Toast to 2022! airs in full at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on NBC.
The Hannah Montana alum’s appearance on A Toast to 2022! will precede her own NBC special, Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, co-hosted alongside Parton, 76, which will air at 10:30 p.m. ET/9:30 p.m. CT on Saturday.
This year marks the second installment of Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, and the special will feature performances from Latto, Liily, FLETCHER, Rae Sremmurd and Sia as well as appearances from SNL’s Chloe Fineman, Sarah Sherman and the comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy.
